Following a highly productive first day of the ALBATROSS first General Assembly, participants embarked on a second day focused mainly on the status and progress of the Climate Resilience Development Hubs.

ALBATROSS is building its activities together with local communities. The Climate Resilience Development Network (CRD Network) has been established to this end, consisting of a network of seven hubs distributed in the five Sub-Saharan African countries participating in the project.

The seven Hubs are the fundamental unit on which the project actions are based and work in synergy on three key issues for ALBATROSS and of strong interest to the countries involved: Environmental-Socio-Economic Vulnerability, Internal Migration, and Natural Hazards.

Each of them gave a snapshot of the HUB including the climate research hazards, needs and gaps in order to go on with their work to reach out also to the local community. After the presentation of each Hub it was time to discuss about how each WorkPackage can contribute to the needs and expectations of each Hub. So, divided into two groups they all discussed together about climate services and nature-based solutions.

The second day ended with constructive discussions and valuable insights, highlighting the strong collaboration among participants. This exchange of ideas reinforced the commitment to addressing the project’s key challenges and set a promising path forward for the ALBATROSS initiative.
