On 18 June, the ALBATROSS project coordinator, Laura Leo (University of Bologna), participated in a G20 virtual stakeholder engagement workshop, hosted by the South African G20 Research and Innovation Working Group (RIWG), as input and support for the disaster risk reduction hackaton.

Experts in risk reduction from the European Union, Mexico, Japan, Singapore, Algeria, America, China, and India shared best practices in disaster risk reduction and measures that can be implemented to reduce vulnerabilities to disasters. In this framework, ALBATROSS and another project (Paratus) were invited to attend on behalf of the EU, where Laura shared ALBATROSS’s approach for accelerating climate adaptation in Sub-Saharan Africa.
