The Agency for Meteorology and Climatology “ItaliaMeteo” is a new national meteorological service structure. Consistently with the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), it operates to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of the Italian meteorological system, by strengthening and rationalising activities in the fields of weather monitoring and forecasting, climate and meteo-marine assessments and forecasts, together with national and regional weather agencies.
Role in ALBATROSS:
- Co-leader of WP7 (Communication, dissemination and exploitation)
- Leader of the development of community-driven impact-based forecast systems in WP5
- ITMET is also involved in WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5
