ALBATROSS shares its results and lessons learned with other Europe-Africa partnership projects at Ecomondo
On 5 November 2026, the ALBATROSS coordinator Laura Leo, from the University of Bologna, participated in a session dedicated to European projects working for the green transition in Africa at Ecomondo, The Global Stage for the Circular Economy. By bringing together European and African institutions, project representatives and key stakeholders, the event provided an overview of current cooperation frameworks and ongoing R&I actions addressing shared sustainability challenges in these regions.
In her intervention, Laura stressed the importance of continued dialogue with local institutions and communities to translate local priorities into usable services and guarantee that the services and solutions developed are integrated into decision-making bodies.
“ALBATROSS was really appreciated for its locally-led and locally-grounded approach, and for its strong collaborative nature between African and European partners, including the visible and key leadership role which African partners have in shaping project implementation and research activities”, highlighted Laura.
